Performance Beyond Expectation
We engineer the important and treasured structures of a community for today's needs and future realities.
Cheryl SaldanhaAssociate Principal
Multifaceted structural engineering services for buildings, infrastructure, and other structures, balancing geometry, appearance, functionality, and performance for new design, repair, and rehabilitation.
Creative and coordinated structural designs for new and existing buildings, including peer review and performance-based design approaches that go beyond prescriptive code to meet project-specific goals.
Multidisciplinary engineering services for new and existing building enclosures, covering roofing, wall systems, and fenestration for new construction, repair, rehabilitation, and preservation projects.
Analysis of thermal exchange, airflow including computational fluid dynamics, moisture drive, HVAC system performance, energy use, and daylighting to resolve comfort and performance issues in new and existing buildings.
Engineering services for specialty and complex structures using sophisticated computational mechanics and materials science to address nuclear facilities, buried infrastructure, and science and defense applications.
Performance evaluation and repair design for pipelines, culverts, buried bridges, tunnels, tanks, and aqueducts using computational mechanics, field investigation, and materials expertise to extend service life.
Multidisciplinary engineering services to evaluate performance and assess code compliance for buildings and structures, including performance-based design, risk assessments, and local ordinance compliance.
Code review and strategy, fire protection system design, structural fire engineering, fire and smoke effects modeling, and egress and emergency movement modeling for buildings and their occupants.
Comprehensive physical testing, environmental simulation, and materials research conducted in an approximately 13,500 sq ft in-house laboratory staffed by chemists, geologists, metallurgists, materials engineers, and laboratory technicians.
Mechanical testing including tension and compression loading, fatigue testing, hardness testing, and specialized tests such as shear, fracture toughness, adhesion, and delamination using axial load machines and a 5 ft thick strong floor supported by an overhead crane.
