Projects

Launch Complex Pad 0A and Pad 0C, Wallops Flight Facility

Wallops Island, VA · Space · Client: Mid Atlantic Regional Space Port

Project details

Principal Engineer/Engineer of Record for ground-based pneumatic and cryogenic pressure systems and vessels at Pad 0A (medium class) and Pad 0C (venture class) launch systems. Scope spanned requirements development, Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), engineering support through fabrication, mechanical checkout, functional integration, leak check, and performance testing. Long-term system use was evaluated against NASA Standard 8719.17. Also developed a return-to-service plan for Pad 0A following the ORB 3 mission mishap.

Consolidated Safety Support Contract (CSSC), Cape Canaveral Air Force Station

Cape Canaveral, FL · Defense · Client: 45 Space Wing, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station

Project details

Director of a team of engineers and non-destructive examiners responsible for mechanical integrity and pressure system certification at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Scope included developing a system inventory, reviewing operating history and design documentation, conducting engineering analysis for pressure systems and vessels with pressures up to 20,000 psig, creating inspection and test recommendations, overseeing implementation, and producing summary reports with fracture-mechanics-based life expectancy analyses. Commodities covered pneumatic, cryogenic, and lethal services per EWR 127-1/AF 91-710.
