Capabilities

Commissioning

Service website

Tailored commissioning services for new construction and existing buildings, focused on delivering high-performing, energy-efficient operations across diverse building types and sizes.

  • New Construction Commissioning

Verifies that mechanical, electrical, and controls systems in new facilities operate as designed. Project experience spans 20,000 to over 1.3 million square feet and construction values from $6 million to over $180 million.

  • Retro-Commissioning

Optimizes operation and maintenance of existing buildings through low-cost operational improvements targeting mechanical equipment, controls, and lighting, delivering short payback periods and meaningful energy savings without equipment replacement.

  • Monitoring-Based Commissioning

Ongoing performance oversight using kW Link, a proprietary analytics platform, to detect faults, track energy use, and maintain peak building efficiency on a continuous basis.

  • Owner's Representative Services

Acts as the owner's advocate throughout construction, keeping owner requirements at the forefront and providing an independent set of eyes across design, contractor, and commissioning teams.

Electrification & Decarbonization

Service website

Strategic planning and engineering support for building electrification and carbon reduction, from initial assessment through portfolio-wide program execution for government and private clients.

  • Decarbonization & Electrification Planning

Develops actionable, portfolio-wide plans that assess carbon footprint sources, sequence equipment replacements, and streamline the transition to all-electric operations with smart, cost-efficient design approaches.

  • Retrofit Electrification Engineering

Delivers creative, cost-effective design strategies for converting existing buildings to electric systems, addressing the unique cost and complexity challenges inherent in retrofit projects.

  • Hybrid-Resilient Solutions

Transitions facilities to primarily electric operation while retaining select gas systems for backup and peak loads, maximizing greenhouse gas reductions per dollar spent and improving resilience where it is needed most.

Utility Program Support

Service website

Engineering and delivery services for utility demand-side management programs, supporting some of the nation's largest utilities with program management, technical review, measurement and verification, and strategic energy management training.

  • DSM Program Delivery

Manages demand-side management program delivery on behalf of utilities, advising end-use customers on program fit and upgrade sequencing to maximize incentives and achieve persistent long-term energy savings.

  • Measurement & Verification

Provides IPMVP- and FEMP-compliant M&V services across all four IPMVP options, including Normalized Metered Energy Consumption (NMEC) analysis, for utility programs, performance contracts, and energy projects nationwide.

  • Strategic Energy Management - SHIELD

SHIELD (Sustainable High Impact Leadership Development) is a comprehensive training program that equips building operators with skills to identify root causes of comfort and energy issues, building lasting high-performance operations through a collaborative partnership model.

Smart Building Solutions

Service website

Building analytics and energy information services that translate operational data from BAS and BMS systems into actionable improvements for energy performance, occupant comfort, GHG tracking, and ESG reporting.

  • kW Link Analytics Platform

Proprietary Energy Information System powered by SkySpark that integrates with building automation systems to provide fault detection diagnostics, real-time performance alerts, GHG emissions tracking, and indoor air quality monitoring.
