Projects

Fort Moore Cultural Resources Management

Fort Moore, Georgia · Defense · Client: Department of Defense

Project details

ESS serves as prime contractor providing project administration for a team of archaeologists and historic preservation specialists at Fort Moore. Now in its third year of a five-year contract, the engagement covers 650-plus historic buildings, more than 3,500 archaeological sites, and compliance with Section 106, NAGPRA, ARPA, and Army Alternate Procedures. ESS improved team staffing, redirected discretionary funds toward training and certifications, and acquired dedicated GIS-capable computing to support site mapping and tracking.

Beulah Missionary Baptist Church Natatorium Dehumidification

Decatur, Georgia · Religious · Client: Beulah Missionary Baptist Church

Project details

ESS conducted a detailed field assessment and engineering evaluation of the natatorium within a 69,000-square-foot Community Family Life Center in Decatur, Georgia. Root causes of widespread corrosion in interior metals and structures were identified. ESS designed a replacement outdoor packaged dehumidification unit with redesigned ductwork to improve indoor air quality, control humidity and reduce envelope condensation, and minimize migration of corrosive gases to adjacent spaces. Deliverables included engineering calculations, equipment selection, drawings, and specifications for demolition and installation.

Atlanta-Fulton County Group 4 Library Renovations

Atlanta, Georgia · Government · Client: Atlanta-Fulton County Public Library System

Project details

As part of a design-build team, ESS designed HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems for renovation of seven Fulton County branch libraries. Work encompassed scope verification, design development, construction documents, and construction administration under design-build procurement targeting LEED Silver. Advanced building automation systems for HVAC, lighting, and security were integrated alongside materials inventory tracking, video surveillance, and physical access control. A fire pump was added at the Fairburn branch to address inadequate water pressure for the new sprinkler system. East Point and Fairburn branches achieved LEED Gold; remaining branches are pending LEED Silver.
