New Building Structural Design and Integrated Systems Coordination.
Edward Stanley Engineers LLC is a structural engineering practice with nearly three decades of experience, specializing in the collaborative integration of structure and architecture. The practice provides structural design for new buildings, renovation and adaptive reuse of existing buildings, pedestrian bridges, landscape structures, and custom installations, with extensive experience in concrete, steel, wood, and hybrid structural systems. A small-office model puts licensed principals in direct contact with clients and project teams throughout all phases of design and construction. The studio has collaborated with a broad roster of architects on projects ranging from private residences and academic buildings to cultural institutions, bridges, and public spaces across the Northeast and beyond.

Collaborates closely with project architects and consultants to integrate simple and elegant structural solutions with overall architectural designs. Design processes emphasize team communication, sustainability principles, and coordination with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Coordinates structural elements with waterproofing, insulation, thermal bridges, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure high durability.
Proposes structural materials and designs aligned with project sustainability goals and environmental principles.
Focuses on the renewal, sustaining, and creative reuse of historic or existing buildings. Engineering solutions prioritize structural integrity while honoring the architectural legacy of the original spaces.
Sustains and strengthens aging infrastructure to ensure long-term usability and safety.
Adapts older and historic properties for contemporary uses while preserving their structural and aesthetic character.
Engineers pedestrian bridges and walkways that blend functional connectivity with elegant design. Solutions carefully integrate with the surrounding natural or urban landscape.
Designs pedestrian pathways and scenic overlook structures for public parks and natural reserves.
Designs custom landscape installations and specialized architectural features that require unique engineering approaches. Projects range from outdoor art displays to custom park elements.
Provides structural design and stability calculations for heavy museum exhibits, climbers, and temporary artistic displays.
Develops structural solutions for public parks, open spaces, and garden structures.
Applies specialized knowledge across diverse building materials to draft appropriate framing and foundation solutions. Projects frequently incorporate wood, steel, concrete, or hybrid combinations of all three.
Engineers structural frames that combine different materials to optimize cost, strength, and aesthetic impact.
Evaluates the properties of timber, structural steel, and reinforced concrete to determine the most effective building system.
