Projects

High Power Microwave Window

Defense · Client: U.S. Navy

Project details

Designed, fabricated, and tested ceramic windows capable of withstanding 5000 watts CW at approximately 10 GHz for a Navy contract. Developed a resonant ring that amplifies microwave power by about fifteen to one for testing.

Multibeam Electrostatically Focused Klystron

Space · Client: NASA

Project details

Developed a three-cavity electrostatically focused klystron oscillator operating at 5.8 GHz. Designed for 2,000 watts of output for space missions where weight and size are critical, eliminating the need for heavy focusing magnets.

Reservoir Cathode Development

Space · Client: NASA

Project details

Developed a miniature reservoir cathode capable of extended life and high emission current density under NASA contract. The design utilizes a porous tungsten plug to dispense barium from a storage chamber.

Phase Measurement System

Defense

Project details

Developed a computer-driven system to test phase linearity and tracking in pulsed microwave devices. The system acquires phase versus frequency information, analyzes the data, and plots results in multiple formats.
