Projects

Steel Bridge Abutments

Connecticut · Bridges

Project details

Designed reinforced concrete abutments, wing walls, and a site location grading plan for a steel bridge spanning a brook. The site featured steep cross slopes and driveway grades on both approaches, requiring abutments shaped to conform to terrain and grade conditions while following the natural lay of the land.

Multi-Level Drive-Through Garage

Connecticut · Residential

Project details

Designed the foundation system for a custom multi-level garage building incorporating a drive-through bay sized for a truck and trailer. A clear-span, pre-stressed, pre-cast concrete floor at ground level supports four parking bays alongside the pass-through lane. The basement provides storage space and the upper level accommodates two accessory apartments.

Custom Garage with Accessory Apartment

Connecticut · Residential

Project details

Provided structural engineering for a custom, architecturally designed garage with a second-floor apartment featuring cathedral ceilings, open rooms, and expansive windows, each requiring dedicated structural attention. Design work included LVL structural composite lumber members, steel beams, steel columns, and a flitch plate ridge beam spanning the full length of the structure.

Retaining Wall Reconstruction

Connecticut · Land Development

Project details

Engineered the reconstruction of a failed retaining wall that had collapsed due to an inadequate footing combined with lateral earth and hydrostatic pressure. The failed section was removed and replaced with a properly engineered wall incorporating a perforated foundation drain and free-draining backfill to relieve pressure and prevent future failure.
