About the firm
Founded in 1986, Despiau Associates Corp. is a San Juan, Puerto Rico geotechnical engineering practice and soil/geotechnical engineering laboratory. Since its founding, it has delivered foundation design, geotechnical investigation, materials testing, and construction inspection across more than 6,500 public and private projects throughout Puerto Rico, including Vieques and Culebra. Direct involvement in foundation supervision, analysis, and design spans more than 3,000 projects - roads, bridges, schools, parking facilities, residential and multi-story buildings, industrial facilities, and pharmaceutical plants.
