Capabilities

Anaerobic Digestion Systems

Complete suite of anaerobic digester technologies for varying types and volumes of organic feedstock, including dairy manure, distillery stillage, food waste, and municipal organic waste.

  • CSTR Digester

Continuously-stirred tank reactor digesters for liquid feedstocks such as dairy manure and distillery stillage, producing raw biogas for onsite heat and power or downstream upgrading.

  • Dry Fermentation System

High-solids and low-solids anaerobic digestion technology for pre- and post-consumer food waste and solid organic waste streams, integrated with composting facilities to maximize the value of digestate and biogas produced.

Biogas Upgrading

Skid-ready systems to upgrade raw biogas to pipeline-quality renewable natural gas (RNG), meeting stringent North American pipeline requirements with high methane yield and no increased methane losses over time.

  • Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA)

1-Stage PSA gas upgrading plants capable of handling high-nitrogen gas, removing oxygen from the gas stream, and delivering pipeline-injectable RNG.

  • Combined AD and Upgrading System

Integrated project scope that takes any organic byproduct stream through anaerobic digestion and then upgrades the produced biogas to pipeline-injectable RNG in a single turnkey solution.

Activated Carbon Supply

Exclusive North American supplier of powdered, granulated, and extruded activated carbons from Germany's top manufacturer, used to clean biogas before utilization or pipeline injection.

  • H2S and VOC Removal

Activated carbon products formulated for removal of hydrogen sulfide and volatile organic compounds from raw biogas streams by passing gas through large adsorbers.

  • Siloxane Removal

Specialized activated carbon grades for siloxane removal from biogas, protecting downstream equipment and ensuring gas quality compliance.

Turnkey Project Delivery

Full project lifecycle management from conception through commissioning and operation, including financing coordination with preferred financial partner Isthmus Renewables when project capital is needed.

Projects

Rosendale Dairy Anaerobic Digester

WI · Agriculture · 2013 · Client: Rosendale Dairy

Project details

Anaerobic digester system installed in 2013 processing approximately 350 tons of manure per day from 8,500-cow dairy using two CSTR digester tanks. Built as a partnership between the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Rosendale Dairy.

Vir Clar Farms Gas Upgrading Plant

Agriculture · 2022 · Client: Vir Clar Farms

Project details

1-Stage Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) gas upgrading plant installed in 2022 on an existing anaerobic digester at a 2,000-cow dairy farm to generate pipeline-injectable renewable natural gas.

Edmonton Organic Waste Dry Fermentation System

Edmonton, Canada · Waste Management · Client: City of Edmonton

Project details

Dry fermentation system constructed for the City of Edmonton in partnership with the University of Alberta to convert organic waste into energy. Supported the city's goal of diverting 90% of residential waste from landfills and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Integrated into Edmonton's existing composting facility to maximize the value of both the digestate and biogas produced from organic material.

Seaboard Energy PSA Gas Upgrading Plant

Food & Beverage · Client: Seaboard Energy

Project details

1-Stage Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) gas upgrading plant installed for Seaboard Energy to generate renewable natural gas for pipeline injection from pork processing waste biogas. Seaboard Energy had previously fueled boilers with gas generated from anaerobic digestion of pork processing waste and identified gas upgrading and grid injection as the higher-value alternative.
