Wallops Mission Operations Command Center
Wallops Island, VA · Federal · Client: NASA
Project details
MEP engineering design services for a 15,000 SF Mission Operations Command Center. The project features approximately 6,000 SF of mission control room space, 2,500 SF of data center, and 6,500 SF of support space. The mechanical system consists of a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system with air-cooled and geothermal water-cooled heat pump condensing units, backed by a dedicated outside air rooftop unit. Plumbing systems utilize low-flow and Energy Star compliant fixtures, with domestic hot water generated via a heat pump water heater. The facility is equipped with energy-efficient LED lighting, an emergency generator supporting the entire Wallops Island Campus, lightning protection, and comprehensive fire alarm, security, and public address systems.
